Software

Software is the essential 'glue' that binds the experience of users of mobile computers to the enterprise application. Decisionpoint deploys a wide range of software for our clients because of the wide spectrum of applications, user environments, and enterprise applications that we work with. The range can include:

  • Mobile Middleware-to control mobile application presentation and interface to enterprise systems
  • Mobile Applications-"thick" client, "thin" client, and traditional terminal emulation
  • Mobile Utilities-such as remote management to assist in deployment and support

Our clients can be assured that whether it is mobile- or host-based, standard or custom, decisionpoint's own code or third-party software, we will design, implement, and support the software that deliver the best results for the targeted mobile application and the enterprise system in use.

Decisionpoint Case ToolsTM
Case Tools is a true enterprise-grade, cross-vendor rapid application development product that enables developers to quickly design, program, test and deploy batch, wired or wireless applications in text or graphical mode.

Decisionpoint CommunicatorTM
"Push-to-talk", walkie-talkie style Windows MobileTM application for voice-ready Motorola (Symbol) mobile computers. When combined with an 802.11a/b/g wireless infrastructure, Communicator enables users to talk with one another in a peer-to-peer or one-to-many (broadcast) mode. Communicator is co-resident with other applications running on the same device and requires no server component.

Decisionpoint Shelf Price AuditTM
Client-server application for Motorola (Symbol) mobile computers which enables users to wirelessly look up prices and perform price changes on the IBM 4690 Supermarket application. A retail store auditor can now manage all item price verification and label printing functions from the selling floor or aisle instead of the back room. The client component resides on the mobile computer while the server component resides directly on the IBM 4690 in-store processor and runs as a background task. If desired, an optional XML-based server is also offered for those desiring to run the client in a web browser-based mobile environment.
