  1. Cloud-based solutions don’t require any upfront capital equipment purchases.
  2. Maintenance and updates are automatically taken care of by the service provider.
  3. Cloud computing solutions are easy to implement.
  4. Cloud computing is highly-scalable.  As your applications grow, you can add capacity as needed.
  5. Reduce overall hardware and IT support costs by outsourcing.

What is Cloud Computing?

Posted by Erin Hodges On January - 16 - 2012

A common and growing trend for businesses across all types of industries is to make the move to cloud computing.  In fact, a recent study conducted by Gartner reported that the cloud computing market is expected to reach $150 billion by 2013.

So what exactly is cloud computing?  Cloud computing delivers applications via the internet, which are accessed from web browsers and desktop and mobile apps, while the business software and data are stored on servers at a remote location.  According to InfoWorld, cloud computing encompasses any subscription-based or pay-per-use service that, in real-time over the Internet, extends IT’s existing capabilities.

Motorola Announces WiNG 5 WLAN

Posted by Erin Hodges On October - 6 - 2010

Yesterday Motorola announced the release of the next generation architecture for their 802.11n wireless LAN (WLAN) access points and controllers—WiNG 5 WLAN.  Motorola’s WiNG 5 WLAN offers a simple way to support voice, data and video applications with intelligent traffic forwarding that avoids controller bottlenecks.

Motorola WiNG 5 WLAN is now available for the AP650 thin access pointMore and more businesses are deploying 802.11n and using media-rich applications.  As networks receive more traffic, the traditional “hub and spoke” model can’t handle high-bandwidth demands and creates bottlenecks at the controller which lower 802.11n speeds and degrade network service.  Motorola’s WiNG 5 WLAN is the solution to this problem and distributes the intelligence by making access points route their own traffic without going back to the controller.  WiNG 5 WLAN ensures:

  • Rapid download time
  • Crisp and clear VoIP quality
  • Smooth streaming videos

…no matter how high the network volume.
