DecisionPoint Provides $180,000 Field Mobility Solution to Zip Express
Foothill Ranch, CA — February 9, 2010– DecisionPoint Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:DNPI), a leading enterprise mobility solutions provider, today announced that it has provided an integrated and customized mobile tracking solution to Zip Express Courier Service, a regional courier and logistics company based in Louisville, KY. The mobile tracking system is key to an overall $300,000 project.
Zip Express provides same day delivery services for a large pharmaceutical and healthcare vendor requiring them to use software solutions that receive customer information for each day’s delivery, and use that software to determine how to plan out each day’s shipments, and verify they are delivered correctly and to the schedule using bar code scanning and delivery signature.
In less than a month, DecisionPoint worked with CXT Software to customize and deploy the mobile computers that each one of their couriers uses to create a fully operational tracking system that enables bar code scanning, signature capture and chain of custody tracking when combined with CXT Software’s X Mobile software.
Russ Eden, Chief Financial Officer of Zip Express, stated, “At Zip Express, we pride ourselves on utilizing the most advanced technology available to deliver superior service and reliability while maintaining a realistic cost base. DecisionPoint worked seamlessly with our team to develop a field mobility solution that met the needs for our healthcare customers.”
Darin Soll, Chief Executive Officer of CXT Software, added, “CXT Software is excited to expand its role into the mobile side of the Zip Express technology story. Zip Express is a long-time CXT Software customer and we recommended DecisionPoint Systems to them without hesitation.”
Brent Felker, VP-Field Mobility for DecisionPoint Systems, said, “We are pleased to have delivered an integrated field mobility and back office solution for Zip Express. The chain of custody tracking required by the pharmaceutical industry can be difficult for many vendors, but Zip Express took a proactive approach to understanding and satisfying this challenge.”
