DecisionPoint Systems Provides Enhanced Parking System Solution to Fairplex
Foothill Ranch, CA — May 24, 2011 – DecisionPoint Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:DNPI) a leading provider of Enterprise Mobility and RFID solutions, today announced that it has successfully delivered an integrated mobile solution to Fairplex for use in parking and ticketing systems during the L.A. County Fair and other year-round events.
Fairplex, managed and operated by the Los Angeles County Fair Association, is home to the historic L.A. County Fair, the largest county fair in the world, as well as other year-round educational, multi-cultural and entertainment events. Fairplex hosts more than 500 memorable events and welcomes nearly 3 million guests per year.
DecisionPoint worked with Fairplex to upgrade their existing mobile computers to new tablet PCs that provide a larger display and more kiosk-like operation. The deployed units will be used for Fairplex’s parking services and POS ticketing systems. Equipped with bar code scanners to capture parking, ticket and coupon information, as well as magnetic stripe readers to process payment on the spot, the new tablet form-factor and outdoor viewable displays enable Fairplex to improve customer satisfaction while also increasing employee efficiency.
“The new tablets provide faster credit card transactions and are reliable in all weather conditions,” said Michael Cisneros, Parking Treasurer for Fairplex. “The solution has greatly improved our selling point with its speed, reliability and flexibility.”
Ralph Schorbach, Technology Manager for Fairplex, added, “DecisionPoint has been easy to work with and provided a quality product to meet our needs.”
Tom Barber, VP of Marketing for DecisionPoint Systems, stated, “We are very proud to have partnered with a company such as Fairplex where community relations are clearly at the forefront. We are happy to have helped deploy a solution that delivers improved productivity and also enhances the customer experience.”
Under the direction of the Los Angeles County Fair Association, Fairplex is home to the L.A. County Fair, the largest county fair in the world, as well as The Learning Centers which encompasses Fairtime Learning, The Child Development Center, The Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC), the Junior Fair Board, and the Millard Sheets Center for the Arts. Fairplex also operates a diverse hospitality business with the Sheraton Fairplex, McKinley’s Grille, KOA RV Park, Finish Line Sports Grill, Cornucopia Foods, and the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel & Conference Center (opening early 2012).
